Multicultural is Here!

The multicultural unit is an annual tradition at Orion. Each classroom transforms into a different country. The kids have spent months studying and preparing to teach their fellow students about their country. The students tour the world, with passports, ready to experience the games, food, and cultures of each country. It’s a magical time at our school!

This is a great time to get involved; talk to your teacher about how you can help:

  • Does your classroom need supplies, food, or help decorating?
  • Is there any prep work you can do at home?
  • Can you help for an hour or more during the classroom tour day?

Don’t forget about the Open House Thursday, May 31st 6:00-7:00 p.m. where everyone gets a chance to tour all of the classrooms!

Sign Up for the Orion LaserQuest Fundraiser, May 15th!

We are ready to take sign-ups for our Laser Quest night. The facility will be open to Orion school families as well as friends and community members. Outside of food and credit card fees, all remaining proceeds go to Starship Orion!

Here are some details about the event:

  • Each participant will pay in advance, and select a time slot. Each slot will contain two 15 minute laser tag sessions with a small break in between each session.
  • Each paying player will also receive a slice of pizza and a beverage. We will have additional slices available for purchase the day of the event.
  • Both adults and kids can play. There is no age limit. If you have smaller kids that would like to play, they can play alone if they are able to carry the pack. Alternatively, a parent can carry the pack for them, and they can work together.
  • All participants should wear appropriate shoes for running. Flip flops/crocks/slides can easily come off during the game can cause a hazard.
  • We would love help at the registration table and pizza room. If you sign up for a 1-hour slot, you (or your child) will get to play for free. We will work with you to coordinate your time slot for play.

Date: Tuesday, 5/15/18, 3-7 PM
Cost: $25 per person, includes pizza and drink

Orion’s Prom was a Hit!

Thank you to the auction team for putting on the party of the year! This is our PTO’s primary fundraiser.  Money raised at the event will help to fund our P.E., art, music, field trips, library programs and to cover basic school supplies for all Orion students and teachers.  It also enables funding for unbudgeted classroom items. Thank you again to the fabulous Auction committee.
