LaserQuest Fundraiser

We are excited about our Laser Quest night! The facility will be open to Orion and MI families as well as friends and community members. Outside of food cost and credit card fees, all remaining proceeds go to Starship Orion PTO!

Here are some details about the event:

~ Each participant will pay in advance, and select a time slot. Each slot will contain two 15 minute laser tag sessions with a small break in between each session.

~ Each paying player will also receive a slice of pizza and a beverage. We will have additional slices available for purchase the day of the event.

~ Both adults and kids can play. There is no age limit. If you have smaller kids that would like to play, they can play alone if they are able to carry the pack. Alternatively, a parent can carry the pack for them, and they can work together.

~ All participants should wear appropriate shoes for running. Flip flops/crocks/slides can easily come off during the game can cause a hazard.Date: 12/04/2019 (Wed.)Location: LaserQuest San Carlos

Author/Illustrator Fair book sale proceeds benefit Starship Orion, the Parent Teacher Organization for Orion Alternative and Mandarin Immersion in Redwood City, CA. Starship funds programs such as PE, field trips, Art in Action, theater, instructional aids and more. Starship Orion is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Halloween Carnival

Join the Orion and Mandarin Immersion families for an evening of games, bouncy houses, face painting, halloween fun and food. Fun night for the entire family! Costumes are optional.

October 25, 2019, 5:30pm – 8:00pm at the school campus.

To make it easier for everyone you can now order your Armbands or Tickets in Advance for $15. The armband gives UNLIMITED access to all Carnival games! Last day to turn in is Octubre 18. After the 18 you can only purchase at the day of the event for $20.
-Children under 3 PLAY FREE
-Tickets are required for food purchase.

*Turn-in the form with money/check to your child’s teacher.
*Stop by the school office with exact amount or check (payable to STARSHIP)

After School Sports Registration for Kinder & 1st-Graders

Orion has teamed up with Legarza Sports to offer a low-cost ($20), after-school, all-sports program, funded in part by a generous donation from Prima.

The fast-paced hour-and-a-half sessions are run by Legarza’s energetic and knowledgeable staff . Your child will learn and have fun while playing basketball, soccer, hockey, and recess games such as 4-Square, tag games, relay races, capture the flag, and MORE! The focus is on fun-filled activities that help to build confidence, teach cooperation and teamwork, and improve athletic ability.

  • For kindergartners and first graders
  • 10-weeks on Tuesdays: 3/19-6/4 (NO CLASS 4/2 & 4/23)
  • 2:30-4:00 P.M.

If you would like your child to attend, please read and sign the attached permission slip. Include a check for $20 made out to Starship Orion and deposit it with the permission slip in the Starship mailbox in the front hall at school. Permission Slip

Orion “Go West” Auction!

Orion’s biggest fundraiser is around the corner…

The “Go West” auction night includes complimentary drinks from 6pm-7:30pm, dinner & dessert, silent auction, live auction, and professionally-led line dancing! Kid’s Night Out is available through Ingenium for a small fee, and all proceeds are generously donated to Orion.


And last but not least… in the spirit of our Orion community, please consider helping out at the auction for an hour or two, so everyone (including our hard-working auction committee) can have some fun!

After School Sports Registration for 3rd-5th Graders – Registro de deportes después de la escuela para estudiantes de 3er a 5to grado

-Two instructors for 20-40 children

Orion se ha asociado con Deportes Lagarza para ofrecer un programa después de la escuela a bajo costo ($20), este programa está financiado parcialmente por una generosa donación por parte de Prima. Las interactivas sesiones son de una hora y media y son dirigidas por el personal energético y preparado de Lagarza. Los estudiantes aprenderán y se divertirán mientras practican basquetball, soccer (futbol), hockey y juegos de recreo como 4-cuadros, las traes (tag) carreras, obtén la bandera y mucho màs! El enfoque es aumentar la autoconfianza, trabajo en equipo y mejorar la habilidad atlética mediante actividades divertidas.

Para poder ofrecer esta oportunidad a todos nuestros estudiantes, hemos dividido por grados y se tendrán 3 sesiones de 10 semanas cada una por todo el año escolar. 

Información del programa:
-Estudiantes de tercero, cuarto y quinto grado
-Sesión de 10-semanas, los martes, 12/11-3/12 (no 2/19) from 2:30-4:00 PM.
-Dos instructores para 20-40 estudiantes.

Si desea que su estudiante de tercero, cuarto y quinto grado participe, por favor lea y firme el permiso (registración) adjunto. La registración junto con su pago (cheque pagadero a Starship) debe de ser depositado en la caja de Starship (Es una caja de correo negra que se encuentra a la entrada de la escuela enfrente de la oficina). Permission Slip (ESP)
