As part of our safety plan, we will practice our lockdown procedure with students on Thursday, March 29th. A school lockdown is implemented as protective action when an imminent threat is identified on or near our campus. During our 5-minute drill, teachers will lock all doors, close all blinds, and instruct students to listen to their directions to hide under or desk or other safe space and to remain quiet. When the all clear is given, students and teachers will resume regular classroom activities. If you have any questions, please let Principal Julie know!
Mark your calendars: the all-school campout for the 2018-2019 school year will be October 12-14 at Memorial Park. Sign-ups will be taken at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
With the wet spring weather, the lines are especially long at pick up. Remember to be patient and follow safety procedures. Thanks to our Safety Team for keeping the traffic moving and the kids safe!
Thank you to the auction team for putting on the party of the year! This is our PTO’s primary fundraiser. Money raised at the event will help to fund our P.E., art, music, field trips, library programs and to cover basic school supplies for all Orion students and teachers. It also enables funding for unbudgeted classroom items. Thank you again to the fabulous Auction committee.
RCSD offers a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) pull-out program for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders located at Clifford and Hoover Schools. If you would like your child currently in grades 3, 4, or 5 to be tested for GATE this Spring 2018, you can read more information about the program at RCSD GATE Program.
Parents must complete a permission form for their student to be tested. At the end of the survey, please check that you have seen the “Thank you for your survey” results page. If you do not see this page, then please go back and complete the survey again until you see this page. This confirms you have submitted the permission form accurately. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RLW95KZ
Calling all Orion kids! Come check out the weekly wellness display on the table outside the office. Starting March 5, we will feature a fun theme each week that helps you learn about a healthy body and mind. Take the quiz each week and possibly win a prize. The first week is all about fruits and veggies–how many have you tried? Are you eating 5 a day? Come explore and learn more! email@example.com
