Orion gives back! Our wonderful Student Council representatives wanted to give back to the community and organize a Food Drive this Holiday Season. We’re making it happen!
Student Council is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to bring a food drive to Orion School. This winter food drive will help support members of our community this holiday season. Please consider sending any unopened, non-perishable food items to school with your child from December 9th to, December 17th. Donation bins are located at the library and the MUB.
Second Harvest asks that these items not be made of glass or contain candy or sugary beverages. Please consider donating to the families of our community this holiday season by dropping off your donations by December 17th.
What are your most-needed food items?
Second Harvest accepts all non-perishable food donations, but especially needs these nutritious items:
- Canned foods with pop-top lids, including:
- Tuna, salmon or chicken
- Fruit in its own juice or water
- Low-sodium vegetables
- Soup, stew or chili
- Peanut butter
- Olive or canola oil
- Spices (cinnamon, chili powder, cumin, salt-free spice blends)
- Low-sugar whole grain cereals
- Nutritious snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit)
- Bottled water
Please no glass containers, candy or sugar-sweetened drinks (soda, energy drinks, juice).
