April 27^th Dress Rehearsal at McKinley, 4:00
Everyone in the plays must be at McKinley by 4:00.

April 27^th Orion Play at McKinley, 6:30-7:30
Everyone is invited to attend the play.  It is an entertaining evening. Bring the family!!!

May 3^rd Family Enrichment/Game Night, 6:00 – 7:30
Bring the whole family and play some enriching games. Starship purchased a selection of “brain” games for our students and we want everyone to come and enjoy them. We will have the MUR set up so everyone can play. Playing can be fun and it stretches our minds!

 May 8-25^th State Testing
All 3-5^th grade students, except those who have applied for waivers, will be taking the state tests during this time period.  These tests are important on many levels.  We ask everyone to try and follow the below mentioned items:

1. Get your children to bed on time.
2. Don’t have arguments with your children in the morning. Have them start the day in a good mood.
3. Make sure they have a protein rich breakfast.
4. Arrive no later than 8:08 to school. Children who arrive late will not be able to enter the classroom and will have to do a make-up test.
5. From 8:10-10:15 the school will be on silent mode. No one should be in the halls or playground.  We need a quiet and calm environment for testing.  Students will spend about 1-2 hours a day testing.

May 10, Wellness Day at Orion, 1:30
Children love this day! If they buy lunch they can get the A-Z salad bar during lunch, plus a regular lunch. It is one fruit or vegetable for each letter of the alphabet.  Then, at 1:30-3:30, Nicole Sommerfeld, has put together a wonderful array of activities. We have a great afternoon planned with Dance, Tennis, LaCrosse, Martial Arts and Golf Activities.. Free for all kids. Come join the fun and try out these activities. All-fruit juice smoothies will be on sale. Parents need to supervise their children.

May 16^th, Parent Hours are Due
All parents must hand in the last of your parent hours.  Get your log hours totaled and find those receipts. It is 72 hours for 1 child and 104 for 2 or more.  Remember, you’re committed to do your hours, and we are a parent participation school.  If you need an exemption due to an emergency situation or birth of a child, ask Liz for one. The School Site Council will review it.  If you have not reached your total, but will be working hours from May 16-June 1^st, write down what you plan to do and include it in your total. Thanks so much!

Help Cats/Kittens @ Nine Lives Foundation
Girl Scout Troop #62356 invites you to join them in helping the Nine Lives Foundation.  Please bring old towels and baby blankets and drop them in the bin near the office.  The deadline is Wednesday, May 2^nd.  The special kitties and cats at Nine Lives are lucky to have the sweet girls from Troop 62356 watching out for them!

3 de mayo Noche de Enriquecimiento / Juego Familiar, 6:00 – 7:30
Traiga a toda la familia y juegue algunos juegos enriquecedores. Starship compró una selección de juegos “cerebrales” para nuestros estudiantes y queremos que todos vengan y los disfruten. Tendremos el MUR configurado para que todos puedan jugar. ¡Jugar puede ser divertido y estira nuestras mentes!

8 a 25 de mayo Prueba estatal
Todos los estudiantes de 3-5 grado, excepto aquellos que han solicitado exenciones, tomarán los exámenes estatales durante este período de tiempo. Estas pruebas son importantes en muchos niveles. Pedimos a todos que intenten y sigan los siguientes elementos:

1. Lleve a sus hijos a la cama a tiempo.
2. No tenga discusiones con sus hijos por la mañana. Haga que comiencen el día de buen humor.
3. Asegúrate de que tengan un desayuno rico en proteínas.
4. Llegue antes de las 8:08 a la escuela. Los niños que lleguen tarde no podrán ingresar al aula y deberán realizar una prueba de recuperación.
5. De 8: 10-10: 15 la escuela estará en modo silencioso. Nadie debería estar en los pasillos o el patio de recreo. Necesitamos un entorno callado y tranquilo para las pruebas. Los estudiantes pasarán aproximadamente 1-2 horas por día probando.

Bar de ensaladas A-Z durante el almuerzo, más un almuerzo regular. Es una fruta o verdura para cada letra del alfabeto. Luego, a la 1: 30-3: 30, Nicole Sommerfeld, ha reunido una maravillosa variedad de actividades. Tenemos una gran tarde planeada con baile, tenis, LaCrosse, artes marciales y actividades de golf .. Gratis para todos los niños. Ven y únete a la diversión y prueba estas actividades. Batidos de zumos de frutas estarán a la venta. Los padres necesitan supervisar a sus hijos.

16 de mayo, se deben las horas de los padres

Todos los padres deben entregar la última de sus horas de padres. Obtenga su registro de horas totalizadas y encuentre esos recibos. Son 72 horas para 1 niño y 104 para 2 o más. Recuerde, usted está comprometido a hacer su horario, y somos una escuela de participación para padres. Si necesita una exención debido a una situación de emergencia o nacimiento de un niño, pídale a Liz una. El Consejo Escolar lo revisará. Si no ha alcanzado su total, pero será el horario laboral del 16 de mayo al 1 de junio, anote lo que planea hacer e inclúyalo en su total. ¡Muchas gracias!
